In this one-week tour, you will discover the beauty of the Coast of the Gods in Calabria by bike and by boat, enjoying an experience as if you were a local! You will be guided on fantastic bike rides along the coast and inland, even having the opportunity to see two seas in one day!
The highlights of your trip will include: of course, Tropea, classified as the most beautiful village in Italy in 2023, which needs no introduction. You will discover its crystal-clear sea on the tour to Capo Vaticano, its ancient history, and its typical products. Zungri: a rural village in the Vibonese countryside famous for its cave dwellings, the coast-to-coast from Soverato to Pizzo at the narrowest point between the two seas of Italy, and many other gems that you will discover only by participating in the tour. Accommodation will be in a fantastic villa with a pool just 3 minutes from the center of Tropea.
The villa is located in Tropea in the station area. The structure is spread over two floors: on the first floor, there is the living area with a large living room, a spacious kitchen and dining room with an outdoor garden where you can have meals and spend convivial moments. Upstairs, there is the sleeping area with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and the other with a shower. Outside, there is the annex, which is a true two-room apartment, with a small living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The annex has a large terrace overlooking Stromboli. In the garden, the pool is at your disposal. The pool is 16 meters long and 8 meters wide, and around it, you can relax on loungers and deck chairs.

Saturday
Arrival and accommodation in the structure, meeting with the guide, initial briefing, dinner, and overnight stay.
Sunday – Tour along the coast to Capo Vaticano – 25 km – elevation gain +450m
Departure by bike in the morning at 9:00, a 25 km tour along the coast to Capo Vaticano. You will enjoy the fantastic view of the cape, the Calabrian coast, and the Strait of Messina. On clear days, you can even see Mount Etna. Before lunch, you can enjoy a fantastic swim at the beach of Santa Maria. An optional lunch is planned at one of the restaurants in the square of Santa Maria di Ricadi. In the afternoon, return home and at 6:30 pm guided tour of the historic center of Tropea with the historian and archaeologist Dario Godano, followed by a tasting of typical products at a restaurant in Tropea.
Monday – Surroundings of Tropea 28 Km +1120 m
Departure at 9:00 am for a bike tour on the ancient roads above Tropea. It is a 28 km tour with significant climbs but which will be easy with our e-bikes. You will pass on dirt and asphalt roads traveled for over 200 years with important views of Tropea from above and the arid and fascinating Calabrian countryside. (Attention, please indicate if you suffer from vertigo because there are many cliffs that may cause discomfort). Return home and at 6:30 pm, wine tasting at sunset at the Furchì winery. A very special experience of peasant hospitality that will make you feel at home.
Tuesday – Tour of the rural villages + 850 m
Departure at 9:00 am for another tour with more climbs. This time you will climb to the rural village of Zungri, the village of Madonna della Neve and the woman in black in mourning forever mentioned by Rino Gaetano in the song “for example I like the south”. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by Mrs. Franca Crudo of the Asfalantea association who will explain how bread was made in the past and the importance of bread on our tables from a culinary, cultural, and religious point of view. You will visit the prehistoric caves of Zungri and the peasant museum. At the end, return to Tropea along the secondary roads of Zungri, Zaccanopoli, and Fitili with a swim at the beach of Michelino (optional).
Wednesday – Boat tour along the Coast of the Gods – Costa degli Dei
You can sleep if you want!! Free morning. At 1:00 pm, boat tour of the Coast of the Gods until 6:00 pm. Departure from the “La Grazia” beach in Parghelia, you will see the beauty of Tropea from the sea, where the village certainly gives its best. The tour continues towards the Blue Grotto and the Cavalier Beach, the Formicoli beach fantastic for snorkeling, and Capo Vaticano by sea both the Grotticelle beach and the Santa Maria beach. In the evening, typical dinner at the “La Casareccia” restaurant in Brattirò (VV).
Thursday – 55 km Coast to Coast – +1600 m
Transfer by shuttle to Soverato (CZ) in the morning at 8:00 am, arrival at 9:30 am, and departure for the 55 km tour from Soverato to Pizzo. The tour is called coast to coast because you will have the opportunity to see two seas in the same day: the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian. I recommend dipping your feet in both seas, both at the start and at the end! It brings good luck! The tour starts from the sea, goes up to the mountains, crosses villages and forests, and plunges back into the sea. Along the way, lunch is planned in the village of Monterosso and in Pizzo, you will taste a typical ice cream: the truffle. A delicacy of hazelnut, chocolate, and melted chocolate heart. At the end, return to Tropea by shuttle and free dinner.
Friday – 30 km or visit to the village of Chianalea
You will be tired from the previous day!! but I want to leave you a choice: a last bike ride of about 30 km, relaxation on the beach in Capo Vaticano or Tropea, or transfer by shuttle to Scilla and visit to the village of Chianalea with lunch based on octopus sandwich. Whatever your choice, in the evening everyone to the pizzeria for the farewell dinner!!
