The Oltrepò Pavese is famous not only for its excellent food and wine, but also for its landscapes, castles and abbeys, and it’s
is perfect to explore on two wheels!
Not far from Milan, it includes 78 municipalities in the province of Pavia, all of which are located south of the Po. A hilly area famous all over the world for being one of the most suitable areas in Italy for wine-growing. Based in Salice Terme, an ancient thermal centre in Roman times, you can easily explore the whole area.
The use of the E-bike is certainly the perfect solution to enjoy a relaxing ride. With this Tour we want to combine the beauty of this area to be discovered by cycling with the food and wine specialities to be tasted at the table!
ITINERARY
Day 1: Individual arrival in Salice Terme.
You will dine at the hotel (weather permitting outdoors) and start enjoying the atmosphere (and specialities) of this area.
Day 2: Tour Oltrepò with MTB Guide – about 38 Km
In the morning you will meet the guide who will accompany you throughout the day for the tour to discover the Oltrepò Pavese.
The guide will take you (and tell you about) this territory rich in history and food and wine traditions.
We start from Salice Terme on the Greenway towards Retorbido to cycle through the hills between villages and castles.
You will stop to learn about the history of these places and discover enchanting landscapes.d You can to relax with two stops during the day to taste local wines and cold cuts. and have lunch and then return peacefully to the hotel. Relaxed dinner at the hotel
Day 3: Greenway Varzi-Voghera
Following the cycle path that is being built on the old railway you can choose whether to follow it in the direction of Varzi or in the direction of Voghera to discover the Oltrepò Pavese in freedom.
Alternatively we can recommend circular ad-hoc itineraries.
